The 2013 Eco-Logic Awards was hosted by Enviropaedia, in association with SABC 3 and saw hundreds of individuals passionate about the environment gathering at Maropeng on Thursday 26 September.
The glittering event focused on Eco-Logic – a mindset and value system that goes beyond products and manufacturing to include the way owners run their businesses, how they live in society and their communities, and the application of natural law to politics and the economy.
Judges had a difficult task to identify the winner in each category, but after each participant were judged according to strict criteria the winners were announced with confidence.
“The entries this year were of a very high standard and it was a tough process to decide on a winner for each category. The 2013 Awards included new categories (such as the municipality category), networking events and sponsors and we are growing faster than we initially envisaged. We are proud to be part of this thriving Eco-Logic community and look forward to 2014,” says David Parry-Davis, editor of Enviropaedia and co-host of the Eco-Logic Awards.
“The Eco-Logic Awards event calls attention to some of the great work done to promote the message that environmental conservation is not a luxury, but instead a vitally important prerequisite for building a sustainable future for South Africa,” concluded Dr John Hanks, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
