Curro comes alive with book characters
From fairy tales to animated favourites, Curro learners showcased their creativity through costume and character.
Curro Krugersdorp Primary School was transformed into a vibrant world of imagination and storytelling as learners celebrated the school’s much-anticipated Book Character Day.
From the moment they arrived, learners filled the campus with excitement, ready to step into a world of endless possibilities through reading. The school came alive with colour and creativity as beloved book characters were brought to life.

From the playful charm of the Minions to the timeless elegance of Cinderella and the whimsical curiosity of Alice in Wonderland, the event showcased a magical display of imagination. Each costume reflected the learners’ enthusiasm, creativity and love for storytelling.

According to school marketer Dibuseng Maboya, local authors added a special touch to the day by showcasing their books and engaging with learners. Their displays provided young readers with an exciting opportunity to explore new stories and purchase books, further encouraging a culture of reading and literary appreciation within the school.
Book Character Day continues to be a highlight on the school calendar, reminding learners that books are not just stories but gateways to imagination, creativity and lifelong learning.
