Municipality says water is restored

Mogale City Local Municipality has released a media statement claiming that they have resolved the technical problems that caused the water disruptions of the past days.

Mogale City Local Municipality has released a media statement claiming that they resolved the technical problems that caused the water disruptions in Kenmare, Monument, Noordheuwel, Factoria, Wentworth Park and surrounds in the past days.

Nkosana Zali, municipal spokesperson says that water supply has been restored on a staggered basis from about 10am to around 7pm.

“Whilst the situation has stabilised, the municipality still makes a humble appeal to residents to use water sparingly because water is still being supplied via a bypass until the Kenmare Reservoir is re-commissioned before or by next Friday 29 November. Failure to heed this appeal will result in households experiencing low pressure during high demand periods.”

Zali says to augment supply, water tanks will remain at selected spots around the three affected wards.

“We will also be monitoring the situation very closely and we again apologise for any inconvenience caused by this necessary intervention.”

Residents are advised to direct their queries to their call centre on 086 166 4253 during office hours and on 011 951 3000 after hours.

Queries also can be emailed to water@mogalecity.gov.za should there be water supply problems.

“Each area has its peculiarities therefore we request residents to supply us with their full addresses when logging their queries,” Zali concludes
