Assault puts 6 On Heritage tenancy under scrutiny

Following an assault that left a man seriously injured, the after-hours hotspot was issued with a notice to vacate.

Days after an assault at 6 On Heritage in Krugersdorp North left patron Jacques Roberts seriously injured and hospitalised, the establishment was issued with a notice to vacate by its landlord’s legal representatives.

Heritage Square legal representative Katie Jordaan confirmed to the Krugersdorp News on August 7 that, while they sympathised with Roberts and his family, they had no further comment other than to confirm that the owner of 6 On Heritage had been notified to vacate.

Jordaan added that management on site had been assisting police with all necessary information to allow the investigation to be conducted fully and without interference.

The notice was issued on August 6 and required the establishment to vacate within 30 days.

Jordaan further informed the News on August 13 that the notice to vacate had not been retracted. However, the parties had agreed to a three-month probation period, during which the tenants would be allowed to remain in occupation subject to strict conditions.
