Krugersdorp police are searching for an alleged laptop thief after CCTV cameras captured him stealing a laptop from a car at a Sasol filling station in Pinehaven.
According to Krugersdorp SAPS spokesperson Tshepiso Mashale, the suspect opened the back door of a female’s car at the filling station as she was locking the door on the driver’s side.
“He took a laptop from the back seat and fled the scene,” she says.
Police say that the suspect was seen at the filling station with a white Toyota Corolla earlier that day.
“He parked at the station and wandered around for several minutes,” says Mashale.
“It seems like he waited for a suitable victim and time to strike,” she adds.
Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV footage or who might have any information regarding the case is urged to contact investigating officer Sergeant Motshwene on 011 951 1091.
