A man (37) facing charges of assault and intimidation briefly appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court yesterday 20 January.
According to Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson for the Kagiso Police, the suspect was arrested on Friday 17 January after he allegedly had attacked and assaulted his girlfriend.
“The woman arrived home from work and found that her live-in boyfriend had locked himself inside their shack. He opened the door after she had knocked.”
Sibiya says once she was inside he attacked and assaulted her without saying anything, hitting her in the face with his fists until she fell to the floor.
“While she was trying to get up from the floor, he drew a knife and threatened to kill her.
“The victim later reported the matter to the police and the suspect was arrested,” confirms Sibiya.
