Women arrested for hijacked car

The stolen vehicle was parked in a garage at a house in Soweto.

Two women were arrested recently for being in possession of a stolen car that was hijacked during a house robbery in Krugersdorp.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela, police received a tip-off from the community indicating that the stolen car was spotted at a house in Moletsane, Soweto.

Arriving at the Soweto house police noticed a vehicle parked in a garage and proceeded to question two female residents who were in the house at the time.

Investigations proved that the vehicle was hijacked during a house robbery in Krugersdorp three days earlier.

According to Makhubela the women, aged between 40 and 51, are due to appear in the Protea Magistrates’ Court charged with the possession of a hijacked vehicle.
