Be alert: property valuators in the suburbs

They have permission from the Municipality and can be identified by the company logo on their shirts.

Residents of Mogale City over the past few days have been up in arms about “strangers” taking photographs of their properties without their permission.

After one such complaint to the CPF in Ward 28, DA Councillor Richard Lees was requested to investigate the matter.

The so-called “strangers” in fact are sub-contracted by the Mogale City Local Council and are taking pictures as part of the official property evaluation process.

They have permission from the Municipality and can be identified by the company logo on their shirts.

However, this is an ideal opportunity for thieves to pretend to be sub-contractors and gain access to your property.

Remember that you have the right to ask for identification if you are unsure of the person and if in doubt contact the SAPS or your CPF on 071 675 7052 or 082 337 1293.
