ANC Deputy President goes door to door in Mogale City

Mogale City residents had the opportunity to meet the ANC Deputy President face to face.

African National Congress Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa made a local appearance as part of the party’s door-to-door campaign to encourage South African citizens to register to vote.

Tudour Shaft, Kagiso and Munsieville residents were among those on the West Rand who had the opportunity to meet the Deputy President on Saturday 8 February.

During his interactions with residents, two mayor issues were identified – housing and unemployment.

“Many people are saying that housing is a problem and that the area they live in is dolomitic,” he acknowledged.

He said that plans were afoot to provide Tudor Shaft residents with houses and to move them away from the area.

While some expressed their gratitude for government grants, other stated their desire to work and provide for their families.

During a walk through the informal settlement he greeted residents and listened to their concerns.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the voter registration drive.

“It is a really good registration activity and our people are responding positively,” he said.

He concluded the campaign with a vote of confidence in the ANC in the upcoming elections.

“The ANC will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections,” he said.

“When we interact with people we find that the support for the ANC is enormous,” he said.
