A Kagiso man feared for his life as he heard gun shots being fired next to him after being pulled down by an armed man and pushed to the ground in one of the streets of the informal settlement.
Much to his relief police arrived on scene just in time.
According to SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, police arrived on the scene following a tip-off and caught the armed suspects with the gun in his hand.
“The suspect was arrested on the scene,” he says.
Minutes later a friend and alleged accomplice of the suspect arrived on scene.
“It is alleged that the suspect called the friend,” says Sibiya.
“The friend was caught by surprise when he noticed that police were on the scene. The friend also was arrested and taken into police custody.
According to reports the dispute was over a gas stove.
