Tasmin and Collingwood overall champs

Tasmin entered on her beautiful nine-year-old thoroughbred Collingwood and the young dynamic duo won.

Tasmin Shania Smith, a 14-year-old Grade 8 pupil at Alma Mater Academy entered to participate in the pre- Horse of the Year Show that was held at the Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm in Kromdraai on Sunday 2 February.

The event was judged by UK top rider and judge Katie Jerram who added substance and importance to this exciting annual event.

The Horse of the Year Show is South Africa’s showcase event for breeding and showing; it sees the best of breeds compete within their categories and finally against each other, across all classes.

Tasmin entered on her beautiful nine-year-old thoroughbred Collingwood and the young dynamic duo, Tasmin and Collingwood, won overall Reserve Champion. This is quite an achievement as it means that this 14-year-old moves up from the Juniors to the Open classes.
