Two men stabbed in altercation with knife-bearing robbers

One of the three suspects was arrested.

Krugersdorp police is on the lookout for two suspected robbers linked to a violent attack on two brothers in Morcom Street in Luipaardsvlei.

According to Krugersdorp SAPS spokesperson Tshepiso Mashale the wanted men formed part of a trio that unlawfully entered a Luipaardsvlei property armed with knifes at approximately 10.05pm on Saturday night 15 February.

“Upon entering the premises the men walked to a cottage and knocked on a window,” explains Mashale.

“A male member of the family residing in the cottage decided to investigate and witnessed the gang standing outside his home, visibly armed,” she adds.

According to police statements he then ran outside and called his brother who resides in the main house on the property to help him.

“The brother came and an altercation ensued between the robbers and the two residents,” says Mashale.

“Two of the suspects fled the scene and one was kept at the house after being apprehended by the brothers. When they arrived on scene police arrested him.”

Both men were injured and had to receive medical treatment.

The Krugersdorp SAPS is still on the lookout for the remaining two suspects.
