The Magaliesburg area is experiencing a high crime rate since the start of the year.
The areas most affected are New Thorndale, Blaauwbank, Vaalbank, Kruitfontein and Rietpoort.
Magaliesburg, known for its tranquility used to be a residential paradise, but it is turning into a crime hotspot with the number of business burglaries, residential burglaries and assaults escalating.
Magaliesburg SAPS and the CPF have been working together to try to reduce crime but with little success. Magaliesburg SAPS is appealing to the community to come forward with any information about perpetrators and to assist in the fight against crime.
It is important that those living in Magaliesburg realise that it is a growing community and those living with perpetrators or have information about criminals ultimately also will become victims of crime. Magaliesburg belongs to all who live in it and working together in the fight against crime will make it a better place.
