The Hawks discovered over R3 million worth of stolen cash on a Muldersdrift farm on Monday (19 May).
According to reports by main-stream media the money was stolen from a SBV cash depot in Witbank and hidden on the farm.
The discovery followed the arrest of three suspects who formed part of a group of armed men posing as SBV investigators.
Six other suspects, among whom are two SBV security company employees and two police officers are expected to apply for bail.
The suspects are accused of posing as SBV investigators who disarmed four on-duty security guards and forced them to drink a poisonous substance before stealing the cash in Witbank.
Three of the security guards remain in hospital in critical condition.
