Suspected housebreaker caught
The Kagiso sector police were doing their routine area patrols when they noticed suspicious men in the street.
A man, 32, appeared briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court for being in possession of tools that could be used to break into a house.
He was arrested by the sector police in the early hours of last Friday when they were doing their routine area patrols.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya says the police officers noticed three suspicious men in the street.
“One of the suspects was carrying a bag. When the police stopped next to the men two of them fled.”
The man carrying the bag was searched and the police found several tools among which were three vehicle spanners, two screwdrivers, one okapi knife, one vehicle lock nut, one heavy duty spanner and pliers.
Sibiya says police investigations show that the suspect was from Swanieville.
“The suspect was arrested and is being detained at the Kagiso Police Station where he faces charges for being in possession of housebreaking tools.”
