Police strengthens relationships

Krugersdorp Police joined forces with Gauteng Department of Community Safety to educate Kagiso residents about crime in the area.

Gauteng Department of Community Safety and Krugersdorp Police embarked on a crime awareness roadshow recently.

The roadshow in Kagiso was held to educate residents about safety and aimed to strengthen relations between police and the community.

A statement from the Department of Community Safety said crime is everybody’s responsibility and everyone needs to take charge to ensure that Gauteng is a safe place to live in. The department saw it appropriate to bring the campaign to those affected by crime.

Prevalent crimes in Kagiso and surrounds are domestic abuse, substance abuse, housebreaking and assault.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Tshepiso Mashale who also took to the streets of Kagiso to hand out informative flyers, urges residents to report such crimes.
