Seven injured in runaway-truck collision
A truck and three vehicles were involved in a collision in Muldersdrift.
Seven people were injured yesterday afternoon (26 June) when a truck collided with three vehicles at the infamous N14 highway and Hendrik Potgieter Road intersection.
A crew from ER24 emergency ambulance services was at a petrol station nearby when they heard screeching tyres and a loud bang.
Russel Meiring, a spokesperson says they rushed to the scene and found a large truck on its side, blocking half the intersection. Three other light motor vehicles also had been involved in the collision.
“Seven people sat around the wrecked vehicles, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Paramedics treated them before they were transported promptly to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”
Witnesses on scene said that the truck driver apparently had lost control before crashing into the other vehicles.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene to conduct further investigations.
