Police busts suspected murderer

A man appeared in court for a murder that took place six months ago.

Six months after a 19-year-old man was killed in Kagiso police arrested a suspect at the Tudor Shaft informal settlement.

Police spokesperson Solomon Sibiya says in December last year the sector police responded to a complaint of a murder from members of the community.

“The complaint was about an unknown man’s body found behind municipal offices in the area. The police rushed to the scene where paramedics pointed them to the deceased’s body.”

He says the deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body. No suspects were arrested and there were no witnesses who could assist with information at the time.

“The police investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect in Tudor Shaft.”

Sibiya says the suspect made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and is facing charges of murder.
