Video: Thugs take bags of booze from liquor store
The video shows a group of men filling big bags with bottles.
Police are on the lookout for a group of men responsible for ransacking a liquor store this morning, 23 July, at about 3.20am at the Rhenosterspruit Shopping Centre, close to Lanseria Airport.
Caxton’s daily newspaper The Citizen recently posted video footage of the crime on their website.
The video shows a group of men entering the store in the centre and filling bags with liquor, cigarettes and other items.
Owner Luiz Helena spoke to The Citizen, stating that a case of theft had been opened with the police.
“We’ve estimated that the robbers caused about R40 000 worth of damage,” she says.
“It is the first time in about four years that we’ve had an incident like this,” she adds.
Investigations are under way.
