Man and pregnant woman hit by car

Two people were left injured following a pedestrian accident on Hugo Street.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann paramedics arrived on scene soon after the accident that took place at around 9.30pm on Thursday night (31 July) to find a injured man and woman.

“Both were knocked over by a motor vehicle,” she says.

“The man was found to have sustained serious injuries while the woman sustained moderate injuries,” says Steinmann.

Paramedics also found that the female pedestrian is pregnant.

Both patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
