The news’ editor Janine Viljoen was invited to join Radio Sonder Grense’s (RSG) Derrich Gardner on his Saturday morning show Brêkvis met Derrich on Women’s Day.

The event, which also was attended by avid listeners of Gardner’s show, was hosted in the lush garden hall at Garden World.

Gardening experts Rian Swanepoel from Hadeco and Henk Meyer from Malanseuns joined Viljoen as Gardner’s guests. Nelda Steyn, communications manager at Silverstar Casino also joined in as part of the show’s line-up.

Local singing star Louw Viljoen also sang a couple of songs during the show.

After Gardner interviewed his guests, a local teacher Anton Strauss presented his Vat 5 to Gardner. Strauss selected five songs that play a significant part in his life and spoke to Gardner about why they mean so much to him.

The show ended with a great prizegiving sponsored by Hadeco, Silverstar Casino, Guvon Hotels and Malanseuns.
