Mogale scales back Saturday credit control services

While municipal cashiers will remain available every Saturday, residents seeking assistance with billing queries and payment arrangements will face reduced weekend access to Mogale City’s credit control department.

Residents making use of Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) credit control services will now only be assisted on the first and last Saturdays of every month, following changes aimed at reducing municipal overtime costs.

According to MCLM assistant manager for media and PR Refilwe Mahlangu, the changes took effect immediately and will affect the municipality’s weekend credit control operations.

Mahlangu said the decision was taken due to overtime expenses incurred by the municipality.

She added that municipal cashiers will continue operating every Saturday between 08:00 and 12:00, allowing residents to continue making payments despite the reduced availability of credit control staff.

Residents requiring assistance from the credit control department are therefore encouraged to visit municipal offices during the week or on the first and last Saturdays of each month.
