Cop behind bars after sexual favour

The female officer will serve time in prison.

A female police officer accused of accepting money from Krugersdorp businessman Thomas Haasbroek, 50, in exchange for a sexual favour in public has been convicted and jailed.

The Sowetan reported that the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court convicted Constable Alva Kgomo from Boksburg after she was caught on camera in a sexual act with an intoxicated Haasbroek in May last year.

Corruption, public indecency and prostitution were some of the charges presented against Kgomo in court.

Haasbroek, according to reports, handed the Boksburg police officer R550 while another ‘serviced’ him in a parking bay at a Boksburg mall.

It was presented that the cops then followed him to a nearby ATM where he withdrew money and handed it them.

In previous court hearings the officers claimed that they escorted him to the ATM because he did not have his glasses with him and needed help to withdraw money.

They denied counting money and said they were tearing up bank receipts and that no sexual acts occurred. On the contrary they claimed that the businessman attempted to harass the female officer sexually but she brushed him off.

According to the Sowetan the court ruled that the CCTV footage of the occurrence was substantial proof that a sexual act occurred in exchange for money, thus leading to the officer’s imprisonment.
