A total of 194 suspects were arrested for a variety of crimes last week.
The crimes range from murder, housebreaking, theft, robbery, drunk driving, rape, fraud, pointing a firearm, possession of drugs and dagga, assault, shoplifting, warrant of arrest, possession of stolen property, dealing in illicit cigarettes, possession of unlicensed firearm and bribery.
Another 84 suspects were arrested for dealing in liquor without a licence and other liquor-related offences.
The Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Patricia Rampota indicates that the successes are due to the perseverance and dedication of members in the cluster.
“A number of operations were held during the week. That helped to increase the visibility of police officers in the sectors and contributed to their successes,” she says.
She has expressed her satisfaction with the ways in which crimes in the cluster are addressed.
