Want to know where you come from?
The workshops will utilise practical tools and relevant information, and encourages you to celebrate your family heritage.

Do you know who your great grandfather was? Perhaps he was a general in an army or a cattle farmer.
Whoever he was, he is connected to you and probably has had some influence on where you find yourself today.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is synonymous with family history.
For many years, members of the church and non-members alike have made use of the church’s websites and libraries to find their ancestors. As part of their ongoing efforts to help individuals and families to learn more about their ancestors, the church will be holding a Family History Fair on Heritage Day (24 September). The fair is taking place at the churche’s building at 62 Paul Kruger Street, Monument.
“Today, family history is far more accessible to your average person than it used to be. Modern technology has given just about everyone the ability to access information about their ancestors that previously may have been impossible to find,” says Daniel Hall, Stake President of the Roodepoort South Africa Stake.
The workshops will utilise practical tools and relevant information, and encourages you to celebrate your family heritage.
All are welcome to join us at the Fair from 9am to noon for workshops on how to get started and where to access your family information. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned family history guru, there will be a relevant workshop for you.
This is a free public service and we invite anybody interested to attend.
