Fallen branch obstructs busy road
Potential danger addressed by councillor.
A large branch was ripped from a tree and fell into the road when strong winds battered Krugersdorp.
The branch fell close to a traffic light on Albertina Sisulu Road and almost caused accidents as motorists had to drive around it into oncoming traffic at midday on Wednesday 1 October.
At the request of it readers the news contacted ANC ward councillor for the area Susan Silaule, who shortly afterwards arranged for the branch to be removed by Mogale City Municipality.
It was done just in time before the regular afternoon traffic hit the busy road.
“Challenges like these are experienced often this time of the year. The important thing is that people report them to ensure the safety of road users in Mogale City,” she says.
Fairly strong winds with speeds of 23 km/h have been pounding Krugersdorp, according to Weather SA.
