Krugersdorp fugitive found

Escaping from police custody has been added to his criminal record.

A man who, according to police, has been linked to various housebreakings in the Krugersdorp area was tracked down and re-arrested after escaping from police custody early last month.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Tshepiso Mashale released a mugshot of the man on 5 September in an effort to find him.

According to Mashale the work of Captain Chris Heyns led to a breakthrough when he tracked down the suspect at his home in Kagiso last week where he arrested him for a second time.

“Currently he is being detained at the Krugersdorp prison and will appear in court soon,” she says.

Escaping from lawful custody adds to a range of other housebreaking and theft charges the suspect faces when stepping into the dock.
