Free eye screening for Eye Care Awareness Month
Serious eye conditions can be treated with success if they are identified and treated in the early stages.

Many people think that if they have no visual symptoms, there is no need to have their eyes examined routinely.
However, an eye examination not only picks up visual problems (refractive errors), but during this examination, many early signs of potential diseases can be detected and treated before they cause serious problems.
Eye Care Awareness Month (ECAM), held annually from 23 September to 20 October, is a month dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of eye health. The theme for this year’s campaign is Universal eye health – Get your eyes tested.
This month International World Sight Day is on 10 October.
Serious eye conditions can be treated with success if they are identified and treated in the early stages. Because some of these are conditions are painless, patients might not be aware of them until they are well advanced. Optometrists are trained to identify these conditions and will refer patients to an eye specialist.
Early intervention often can prevent permanent blindness. Besides all the conditions that can cause visual impairment, glaucoma, cataracts, macular and retinal degeneration, diabetes, childhood blindness and many more can be diagnosed during a routine examination.
Visit Dynamic Eyes Key West Mall during Eye Care Awareness Month for a free eye screening for the month of October.
