A suspected house robber was caught in the act at a home in Tarlton.
It is alleged that a domestic worker was busy with her duties when she suddenly saw an unknown man on the stairs who pointed a firearm directly at her, instructing her to keep quiet. The suspect entered the house by forcing open a safety door.
“The owner of the house also entered and although the suspect was pointing the firearm at him, he gave chase,” says Lucky Matome, spokesperson of the Tarlton Police.
“The suspect managed to flee the scene on foot. Fortunately no shots were fired.”
It is alleged that an expensive wrist watch was taken from the home.
A case docket of house robbery was opened.
Matome says anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or any other information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect can phone the station on 011 952 0012 or on 086 001 0111.
