A 35-year-old man was arrested for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm at a smallholding in Vlakplaats, Tarlton.
Lucky Matome, spokesperson for the Tarlton Police says it is alleged that two men had an argument. One of them stabbed the other with a sharp object, causing an open wound to the victim’s upper back.
When the police arrived at the scene the victim already had been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
He says when the police conducted a preliminary investigation members of the community came forward with information that has led to the arrest of the suspect.
“The victim is still recovering from his injury. The Tarlton Police applauds the community for cooperating with them.”
The suspect will make a brief appearance at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
