A 52-year-old suspect was arrested in Swanieville for allegedly stabbing and murdering his wife following an argument.
Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says the Kagiso Police received a complaint from a member of the community.
“After receiving the complaint, the police rushed to the scene where they found that the complainant is a neighbour.”
He informed the police that the suspect arrived late at night an a few minutes later he heard a heated argument between the couple.
“The suspect allegedly drew a knife during the argument and attacked his wife. She sustained stab wounds to her back and neck.”
Paramedics certified her dead on scene. The suspect was arrested.
Sibiya says he has been detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of murder has been opened. He will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
