The Kagiso Police managed to arrest a fifth suspect for an assault and robbery incident that took place in Swanieville earlier this month.
He is being detained at the Kagiso Police Station and is expected to make a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court today, facing assault and robbery charges.
According to police the complainant allegedly was on his way home from a tavern when he was confronted by 13 suspects who surrounded him, stoned and assaulted him.
Solomon Sibiya, Kagiso Police spokesperson says the complainant was left lying on the ground unconscious and robbed of his cellphone.
“One of the suspects was known to the complainant, so he later pointed him out to the police. Subsequently four suspects in the case were arrested on Monday 20 October.”
