Two business robbery suspects are expected to appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court today 27 October for a robbery that took place two weeks ago.
It is understood that the owner of a business in Kagiso was busy in his shop when three armed men entered early on the morning of Saturday 18 October.
Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says the men were armed with a knife, panga and a firearm respectively, which they used to attack the owner and robbed him of various goods.
“They pointed the firearm and a knife to his ear and then fled the scene on foot with cigarettes worth R800, an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones.”
Sibiya confirms that the matter was reported to the police and through the community’s involvement police arrested two suspects aged 22 and 23.
They have been detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of business robbery was opened. The third suspect is still being sought.
