Eskom is pleased to announce that work at Majuba Power Station has progressed better than anticipated.
Teams have worked non-stop since the incident on Saturday and were able to connect coal feeder units which have enabled them to ramp up the supply from 600 MW to 1 200 MW.
Eskom would like to thank customers who have heeded the call to use electricity sparingly. Once again, they appeal to consumers to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day, but especially from 6pm to 10pm.
Customers are urged to switch off geysers, air conditioners, pool pumps and all non-essential appliances to prevent the need for rotational load shedding.
Load shedding schedules will only be utilised for the duration of the constraint and Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system.
