Kagiso Police apprehended a 27-year-old suspect for being involved in the kidnapping of two men.
Two other suspects, however, are still at large.
Police received information that two men were kidnapped in Kagiso by three suspects. The suspects communicated with the men’s families for a ransom of R1 million in cash.
The family agreed to give the suspects R30 000 where after they notified the police of the situation.
The suspects instructed the family to bring the money to a receiving point in Broederstroom. Police followed the family to the location and after the money was handed over, the suspects released the victims.
The police only managed to catch one suspect during the exchange. Police is searching for two other suspects and urges the community to come forward with information that could lead to their arrests.
