Eskom has just announced that they have implemented stage one load shedding in some areas across the country.
This might continue throughout the weekend.
Most of the suburbs in Krugersdorp are currently without power and traffic is starting to back up since traffic lights are also not working.
Motorists are urged to take it easy.
Eskom said that load shedding can continue until 8pm.
The reasons behind the sudden load shedding are because of various problems at some power stations and pumped storage plants in the country.
Even though Mogale City Municipality distributes electricity throughout Krugersdorp, Eskom can cut the power at any time if they need to.
There is no load-shedding schedule for Mogale City at the moment.
