After struggling to get access to his newly purchased home in Market Street earlier this year, a homeowner made a shocking discovery when he finally entered the property months later.
A suspected drug dealer from Krugersdorp allegedly squatted in the house and used the property not only to manufacture what is believe to be drugs but also sold toxic substances.
The owner, who wished to stay anonymous as the suspected dealer had threatened the lives of his family, purchased the house because of its classic charm and big yard, planning to make it a home for his family.
After many attempts to regain access to his property in every legal way possible, he decided to contact the alleged drug squatters to inform them that he would be evicting them from his house.
“This is my house and I am taking ownership,” the man demanded.
He entered his property and started cleaning up the yard to secure the house, in the process discovering various chemicals in a closed-off room which included pool acid, light bulbs, soda ash and other unknown chemicals. The property does not have a swimming pool.
A container with about 30 sim cards and seven memory cards was found in the house. Allegedly the cards were from stolen cellphones or cellphones that were pawned for drugs. Gas cylinders were found with the outlet connections running from the outside to inside the ‘lab room’, suggesting the possibility that illicit compounds had been concocted there.

Various containers with sand discovered on the property could be an indication of a small gold melting plant being run on the side.
He told the news how the alleged drug dealer came back that night to beg and plead to get his belongings he had left behind in the yard.
“He shouted his business was doing well and he needed a parcel.”

The suspected dealer later demanded that the owner grant him access to his own car. With the help of his accomplices, he hot-wired the car and drove off on flat tyres.
The homeowner claimed there is a lot of activity at the property, especially during the night when customers come tapping on the gate.
The news is happy to report that the suspected dealer has not returned to the property yet but is worried about where he will set up his next lab. The case is under police investigation.
