Suspected stolen car parts retrieved

The police received a tip-off from the community that there is suspicious activities at a certain shack in a Tarlton informal settlement.

The Tarlton Police recovered alleged stolen car parts kept in concealment in a shack at the Norman Informal Settlement in Tarlton yesterday 24 February.

Lucky Matome, a police spokesperson said police received a tip-off from the community that there is suspicious activities at the informal settlement and when they conducted a search they found the parts inside one of the shack’s rooms.

There police found a bonnet, boot, doors, wheels, grill, bumper and other loose parts, of which some had a Volkswagen logo on them.

Matome said the dominating colour of the parts is white and that no registration number was found.

Police arrested a 38-year-old man for being in the possession of suspected stolen goods and will be making a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.

The Station Commander of Tarlton Police Station Lieutenant Colonel AM Molefi applauded the officers for a job well done and he also thanked the community for working together with the police as their contribution makes an impact in combating crime.
