Frontpage dog adopted

Its your last chance to give the 27 remaining fluffy friends at the Krugersdorp SPCA a home.

The dog featured on the front page of the News in the 27 February edition has found a loving home, along with 29 other fluffy friends.

Since the article of the closing of the SPCA appeared on the front page, a number of dogs, cats and kittens were all adopted.

Three kittens, six cats and 20 dogs have been freed from their lonely SPCA cages, with a few still patiently waiting to be adopted before the dreadful move at the end of March as the Krugersdorp branch is set to close down permanently.

Dogs can be adopted for R450 and cats for R270 which include all sterilisation and vaccinations they need.

Jolene Beylenveld, SCPA Johannesburg spokesperson, confirmed that on 10 March there were still 19 dogs and eight cats who are waiting to be adopted at the Krugersdorp branch.

Jolene again reassures the community that the Johannesburg SPCA and its sister branches will be there to service the Krugersdorp area.

“It is only the building/ premises that will no longer be used, but our staff will still be operational in Krugersdorp and its surrounds. Nothing will change in terms of operations other than the fact that we will operate from the JSPCA offices in Reuven. Our inspectors and drivers will continue to collect stray animals and investigate cruelty from the Krugersdorp area.”

For any emergencies or to contact an inspector call the Johannesburg SPCA on 011 681 3600.
