Fingerprint leads to arrest for drugs

A clearance application led to the arrest of a suspect wanted on drug charges.

A 32-year old man was taken into police custody on 24 March after a warrant of arrest had been issued in December 2014.

The suspect was detained at 11.30am by the Muldersdrift police.

“It’s alleged that during December 2014 the suspect went to Douglasdale police to apply for police clearance,” comments Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, spokesperson for the Muldersdrift police.

After his fingerprints were taken and forwarded to the Criminal Record Centre in Pretoria, police established that the suspect had a warrant out for arrest and is wanted for possession of drugs.

“The Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel KD Seabi appreciates the good work done by Detective Sergeant Tlhoaele for the arrest he made,” boasts Ngwena.

The suspected is expected to make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

“All criminals will be found and brought to book,” said Station Commander Seabi.
