Boys receive ‘Cash’ injection for project

A local business and seven boys helped to build up the Teddy Bear Clinic's facilities.

Seven pupils from the St Johns College in Johannesburg decided to make difference and help the Teddy Bear Clinic who was in need of two new counselling rooms.

Sadly the initial sponsor dropped out and the boys went from company to company to find a new sponsor.

The boys along the Teddy Bear Clinic tried their luck at Cashbuild Krugersdorp when they got more than they bargained for.

The Teddy Bear Clinic assists abused children by accompanying them step by step on their journey to healing.

Two hours after sending an e-mail to the Operations Manager, the hopeful boys and the Teddy Bear Clinic got the go-head from head office with a voucher from Cashbuild to the value of R15 000.

“We were blown away by the incredible efficiency of the company responding to our request and with the generous sponsorship,” said Dalene Bishop, Donor Liaison Officer for the Teddy Bear Clinic.

Within a day the boys and the clinic were ready for action and started their project.

“We would appreciate it if you could really make the community aware of how incredible Cashbuild was in making the project possible and a huge success. We have also made mention of a very kind and generous gentleman named Les Wills who assisted us with all the electrical work we needed done at no cost.”

In a letter written to the News from the ‘seven extremely thankful and impressed students from St Johns College’, described the project as an amazing experience.

“We hope that the consultation/ counselling rooms will be used to their full potential and we hope it will help more children to have a safe childhood which they absolutely deserve,” reads the letter.
