Unused Hospice vehicle’ s wheels stolen
Hospice assets becoming dust collectors since the doors were closed in February.
Since news broke of Hospice West Gauteng’s closing earlier this year, it would seem that the liquidation process has been put on hold.
Three months later, the Hospice’s charity shop in Ockerse Street is also closed with stock collecting dust and no answers about the future of the non profit organisation which helped thousands of disease sufferers across the West Rand.
Since the secret closing down of the organisation, two of its former employees Monica Faure and Rentia van Zyl tried with all their might to continue working for the community but was stopped in their tracks.
The News paid an unannounced visit to the organisation’s premises in Burger Street to investigate allegations received following a tip-off.
On arrival at the abandoned office, the News found a locked office with empty parking spaces.
All the furniture and even curtains are still in the offices with the organisation’s vehicles parked in the backyard.
The News also discovered that one of the vehicle’s wheels were stolen with the vehicle being placed on bricks.
The News has since tried to make contact with the organisation for comment, but without any success.
