Children taught the value of saying no

Child Protection Week finished off in Munsieville with an educational puppet show.

Krugersdorp Child Welfare paid a visit to the heart of Munsieville to spend some time with the children in the community as part of Child Protection Week (CPW).

A hall packed with smiling children attended the CPW event that was hosted in the Dipalane Community Centre.

Cheerful laughs echoed through the hall as the puppet masters took to the stage for an informative puppet show.

The puppets taught the children about child abuse and the different forms of it.

Pamphlets with a drawing, emergency numbers and other valuable information about abuse were distributed to the children.

The children learned how to say no to abuse and also why it is important not to talk to strangers.

It was fun and games as the social workers taught the children a lifesaving child-line number.

Social workers Pule Makgalemele, Pule Monyeki and Kagiso Mongae took to the stage and provided the entertainment and education for the day.

Bullying was another subject they touched on and taught the children how to deal with bullies and how to report it.

The social workers along with members from the Community Works Programme enjoyed a morning of fun and celebrations.
