Paramedics finds mangled wreck
Upon further assessment they found that the front passenger of the vehicle was already dead.
A man was killed and three others sustained various injuries when a truck and a Toyota Corolla collided head on with each other on the R512 this evening.
Russel Meiring, an ER24 spokesperson said paramedics arrived on the scene after 5pm where they found the mangled wreck of the Toyota Corolla.
Upon further assessment they found that the front passenger of the vehicle was already dead.
Meiring said the driver of the vehicle was trapped behind the steering wheel and had to be freed by the local fire department from the wreckage.
“Once freed, the driver was stabilised and transported to hospital for further medical treatment. The driver of the truck, along with another occupant, was treated on the scene for moderate injuries before they were transported to hospital.”
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the incident.
