Beauty comes from within
Miss Teen Commonwealth SA's local finalist is on the road to empowering young needy children.
Singing, dancing and strutting their stuff on the catwalk for charity.
This Saturday Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa’s finalist, Siphesihle Zonke, 16, held a lively fundraiser event in support of a local orphanage.
The majority of the participants are from the Ubambo Lezizwe Orphanage Home in Kagiso, which the proceeds of this event will go to.
Siphesihle understands that beauty comes from within and she wants the children of Kagiso, and one day the world, to understand it too.
“Being a Miss Teen Commonwealth SA finalist means reaching out to your community and supporting those in need. We encourage them to be successful one day.”
Ubambu Lesizwe, which means ‘the rib of the nation’, is in dire need of electrical appliances to better the lives of the children living there.
Thembeka Mahlangu, founder of Ubambu Lesizwe, said she was brought up by a woman who was not her mother, so there was no reason for her not to do the same.
Siphesihle hopes to enrich the orphanage with fun and love so that one of them one day may do what she is doing.
“One day they can inspire other children like I hope I am doing today.”
