Child knocked over in front of preschool
A primary school boy was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road.
A boy was knocked over and left moderately injured after crossing the service road on Main Reef Road in Mindalore in peak hour traffic this morning, 18 August.
Paramedics and tow truck drivers rushed to the corner of Trezona Avenue and Main Reef Road’s service Road where the primary school boy was hit by a vehicle traveling along Trezona Avenue.
A bystander on the scene told the News the boy’s parents drops him at the preschool situated on the corner in the mornings where he waits for a taxi to take him to school.
This morning, the child ran over the road to where the taxi is usually parked, when he was hit by the passing vehicle.
It is believed that due to the impact of the accident, the child’s head was slammed against the windscreen and the driver of the vehicle then drove over his foot.
The child was stabilised on the scene and later transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
