Pub bouncer never charged
A week after a man was allegedly beaten to death at a local pub, police and CPF were called out again to break up yet another bar fight.
The community of Krugersdorp are still up in arms following the unfortunate death of Allen Eksteen at an infamous pub and grill on 30 August.
Eksteen died after allegedly being assaulted by the bouncer of Lime Lite Pub and Grub, however no formal charges has been laid against the bouncer.
Members of the community have taken to the Facebook page Krugersdorp Network Community in search of answers after the alleged murder docket was thrown out of court due to a lack of information.
It is believed the bouncer who admitted to hitting Eskteen, was allegedly the only person who gave a statement to police about the incident on that fateful night.
However an eyewitness exclusively told the News the party goers were chased away by the pub’s management, hence she could not give a statement after witnessing the bouncer hit Eskteen outside the pub, possibly resulting in his death.
The community had a mouthful to say about the bouncer who has a bad reputation for getting on the wrong side of the law and who has also been previously prosecuted for breaking the law.
A reliable source told the News that one of the police officers on the scene that night who took statements of the incident was part of the duo constables who were arrested on 1 September for charges of bribery earlier this year.
News journalist Marizka Coetzer watched the footage together with the owner and police and could not see on one of the three cameras any fight nor assault take place as the witnessed claimed.
Ironically the fights took place on blind spots not captured by cameras.
The footage shows the deceased at the bar a few times buying a drink and the bouncer at the gambling machines.
At an instance the bouncer is called the final time who then disappears outside the entrance and returns within approximately four minutes.
These four minutes off camera is where Eskteen was hit to the ground a final time and was later taken away in a body bag.
However, a week after the incident, members of Sector 5 Community Policing Forum were called out again to provide backup for police who were deployed to to break up a fight that broke out early on Sunday morning 6 September at around 1am.
Again the fight took place outside where the cameras are not active.
The case is however still under police investigation and police are asking witnesses to come forward with any information about the night Eksteen was allegedly beaten to death.
