Girl (4) asked to flirt with camera in model scam
More aspiring models come forward in the model scam, leading to a case of child pornography being opened.

“If you are unable to pay the full amount now, you can either pay with oral sex or intercourse.”
These were the words a mother of two young aspiring models had to hear from a woman by the name of Elizabeth du Preez, a model scout scamster.
After the News published an article about a possible model scam on 31 July, two more victims came forward.
Aletta, from Krugersdorp’s two daughters, one 19 and the other 17, were both contacted by Du Preez via Facebook under the same name, which is possibly a pseudonym.
“She told us the girls have been given an opportunity to participate in an underwear photo shoot, but they had to pay an upfront R500 registration fee first,” Aletta told the News.
After the R1 000 was paid, another R1 000 needed to be paid for the photographer. After Aletta paid this amount as well, more and more was asked of her to pay.
“I told them it was going to be a bit difficult to pay the amount they were asking, so she suggested we pay them with sexual favours.”
Jonelle de Bruyn’s four-year-old daughter was also ‘scouted’ by Du Preez as well.
“After I paid a R750 registration fee, she asked me for naked photos of my child. She also told me that my daughter will have to flirt with the camera and cameraman, otherwise she will not make it in the modelling industry.”
Jonelle told the News that Du Preez’s conduct was normally very professional, therefore she did not suspect it to be scam.
Aletta and Jonelle’s daughters have been removed on all social media platforms by Du Preez, but the mothers have opened cases at the police station of theft and Jonelle added a case of child pornography.
According to Sergeant Thsepiso Mashale, police spokesperson, the police’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit will investigate the child pornography case. The other cases are still under investigation.
By the time of publishing this article, Elizabeth du Preez did not respond to messages left on her Facebook profile by the News.
The News urges its readers to report activity of Du Preez to the police and tell the News if you have fallen victim to this, or similar scams.
