CCTV: Unwanted guest arrested in Voortrekker
Businesses in Voortrekker warned after CCTV footage had revealed a trespasser.
An unwanted guest was arrested in Voortrekker Road after he was caught trespassing on business properties earlier this week.
A staff member from a business on Voortrekker Road called the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum members along with EPR after he had seen a suspect on the CCTV footage casually trespassing on their property.
The employee followed the suspect to a business across the road where he also invited himself onto the property.
He told the staff of the other business about the intruder on their property as they had not noticed him sneaking inside.
Patrollers along with reaction officers arrived at the business shortly afterwards. They arrested the suspect and after police had arrived on the scene, they handed him over to them.
Police then took the suspect into custody for further investigation.
CCTV footage of the business showed how the suspect repeatedly entered the property, opened the garage at the back and snooped around.
With the so-called silly season approaching businesses are warned to take extra precautions as this area had been targeted numerous times before.
