Found in stolen vehicle

A 37-year-old suspect was arrested for theft after police caught him re-handed in a stolen vehicle.

Once again the swift action of the sector police led to the arrest on 23 September.

“It is alleged that the complainant parked his vehicle at a spares shop in Krugersdorp West at around 12.30pm. The vehicle was locked before he entered the shop. Upon his return a few minutes later, he discovered his vehicle was stolen,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson.

Police were called and the information was given to all sector vehicles patrolling in the area.

“The swift response by the sector police resulted in one suspect being arrested. The police members were conducting their normal patrols when they notice the stolen vehicle driven by the suspect,” Mashale said.

The suspect was detained at Krugersdorp Police Station and made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

“The members are commended for the swift and professional manner in which they conducted themselves in recovering the vehicle and making the subsequent arrest,” Mashale concluded.
